چکیده

Ectopic ACTH syndrome caused by excessive production of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) a neuroendocrine tumor (NET) is an extremely rare disease, the main manifestation which pronounced hypercortisolism. In order to avoid development life-threatening complications and disability patient, timely topical diagnosis rapid decision-making on further management tactics are necessary. The problem NET differential with other formations remains relevant one little-studied. Despite existing wide arsenal methods conventional diagnostics, functional receptor imaging, source disease unidentified in about 20% patients. This article discusses modern possibilities visualization using radionuclide imaging methods, demonstrates diagnostic capabilities somatostatin-receptor scintigraphy single-photon emission computed tomography combined (SPECT/CT) positron (PET/CT) producing ACTH, analyzes radiopharmaceuticals.

Developmental trends in targeted radionuclide therapy of neuroendocrine tumors

Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) constitute a heterogeneous group of neoplasms including carcinoids, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, pituitary tumors, medullary thyroid carcinoma and phaeochromocytomas. The symptoms and the outcome of NETs differ considerably between patients depending on several factors. By labelling tracers with a radioisotope, the tracer acts as a ...

GEPNETs update: Radionuclide therapy in neuroendocrine tumors.

Peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) is a promising new treatment modality for inoperable or metastasized gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEPNETs) patients. Most studies report objective response rates in 15-35% of patients. Also, outcome in terms of progression free survival (PFS) and overall survival compares very favorably with that for somatostatin analogs, chemotherap...

Evaluation of multifunctional targeted gold nanoparticles on X-ray attenuation in nasopharyngeal cancer cells by X- ray imaging

Introduction: Head-and-neck cancer is the sixth most common cancer worldwide with the number of cases consistently increasing in developing countries. Successful development of effective, safe and cost effective nanoprobes for head-and-neck cancer targeting imaging is a big challenge. This study is aimed to develop cysteamine-folate conjugated gold nanoparticles (F-Cys-AuNPs) a...
